Your privacy

Nothing about who you are is ever attached to your report — no name, no account. The pin you drop (or the address you enter, if you choose that option) is never plotted on the public map as its own individual marker — outages are grouped into area-level counts (roughly 1km, see the map legend) precisely so a marker can never point at one specific address. If you enter an address, it's used once to find the location and is never stored — only a one-way hash of it, used to avoid counting your household twice if you report from more than one device. Your IP address is hashed (not stored in plain text) purely to prevent spam, and any contact email is encrypted at rest and never displayed publicly.
